Who Is John?

Based in Meridian, Idaho, John Barsness provides Class D skills testing for Idaho drivers. John has a long background in Highway Safety and testing:

Idaho Law Enforcement for over 20 years as a Sergeant with the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Department and the Boise Airport Police.
Extensive Accident Investigation experience
Administrator of the Idaho Commercial Driver's License Program for over 12 years.
Holds a Class A Commercial Driver's license with endorsements to drive semi trucks, passenger and school busses, autos and motorcycles.
Licensed Private Pilot since 1979 -flies regularly.
Travelled millions of miles by air and land and has driven all over the United States.

My Mission

To make your skills testing experience smooth, fair, and stress-free. All drivers test on the same route that covers many common driving scenarios, and is approved by the Idaho Transportation Department.

Schedule your skills test with ease by TEXTING ME. I am often testing and cannot talk on the phone, but if you text me your name (and the driver's name if different), when you are eligible or desire to test, I will get back to you ASAP to schedule your test.

All tests are by appointment ONLY. Tests are scheduled Monday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. Your test appointment is normally 40 minutes long. If you are in school, ask for an excused absence to take the test. I do not test at other times due to rush hour traffic.
